Reflecting on an Eventful 2024 at Choba Choba
As every year, we at Choba Choba look back on a dynamic year filled with challenges and wonderful moments. 2024 was marked by many special events that further strengthened our mission and community. Here are some of the year’s highlights:
An Inspiring Start: Rosario and Robert in Europe
The year began with a special Choba Choba moment: the visit of Rosario and Robert, two of Choba Choba’s co-founders and cacao farmers, to Europe. For them, it was their first time in Europe – and for us as a team, as well as for our customers and partners, an extraordinary experience. In addition to visiting customers and partners, they joined us at the ISM in Cologne (International Sweets Fair), where they shared firsthand how Choba Choba works. Read more about their visit

Growing the Choba Choba Community
Another milestone was our capital increase round, which expanded our Choba Choba shareholder community. We are thrilled to welcome new shareholders and move closer to realizing our vision of a community of chocolate lovers, cacao farmers, and professionals.
A Unique Experience in the Alto Huayabamba Valley
A highlight of the year was the summer trip with a small group of professional clients to the Alto Huayabamba Valley in Peru, the home of Choba Choba. Over a week of discoveries, our clients experienced the rainforest and cacao production up close. It was truly inspiring to witness the power of personal connections between professional chocolatiers and cacao farmers, and their mutual appreciation for each other’s work. We plan to continue offering this unique experience in 2025 and beyond.
Partnership with Jeunes Restaurateurs Switzerland (JRE)
Since September, we have been proud partners of the Swiss branch of Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe (JRE). This collaboration with 40 of Switzerland’s best restaurants is a significant step in positioning ourselves as a couverture brand. Our chocolate is already being used in several of these establishments to create outstanding desserts.
2024 was a year full of exciting product launches. At Easter, we introduced Doriza’s Nuts and our Macarons Collection, two products developed in collaboration with our couverture partners. Their success reflects our commitment to working closely with our professional customers, showcasing their craft, and supporting them through our webshop.
In the fall, we launched our new 64% dark chocolate with raspberry and quinoa, which quickly became a favorite in our assortment. In the last quarter, we delighted you once again with our popular Advent Calendar – developed in collaboration with Casa Nobile – as well as the Pavés and Dulce de Leche Pralines, also created in partnership with our couverture clients. Additionally, we introduced two new couvertures for the professional market: the 60% Alto Huayabamba Couverture and the Nativo Couverture 70%.
Challenges of the Year
2024 was not only a year of successes but also one of challenges. The global cacao crisis disrupted the market, and we were not spared. This situation led us to adjust our prices in the fall.
This retrospective reminds us of the many positive moments we experienced and the importance of our community. We are grateful to everyone who is part of Choba Choba – our customers, partners, and shareholders. Together, we are shaping the future of chocolate.
