Initiated at the beginning of 2023, our project represents much more than a simple conservation effort. It embodies the first milestone of a long-term adventure. It unfolds in three complementary components, each playing a crucial role in achieving our goal. Surveillance and control of concessions, strengthening governance and skills of local organizations, and environmental education are pillars supporting our shared vision.
We are aware that the road ahead is long, but we are determined to make this first step the beginning of a collaborative adventure. Thus, our project is rooted in the idea that collective actions are essential for preserving our environment. We do not see our role as that of an organization providing external solutions, but rather as a catalyst for change, encouraging and reinforcing the capacities of local actors.
Our project is not an end in itself but rather a first step. We will strive to inspire other similar initiatives and expand our impact over time. In the future, we aim not only to strengthen the local associations managing the three concessions we support but also to support new organizations and enhance the regional fabric of conservation.
As a social enterprise, as a responsible actor in the chocolate market, and as cocoa producers, we acknowledge the importance of working both resiliently and sustainably on our plantations while taking concrete actions to preserve the tropical forest on which we depend directly and indirectly.
